Tour Program:
Day 1 Kazbegi
Arrival in Tbilisi International Airport.
Transfer to Mtskheta - former capital of Georgia. Lunch in a traditional Georgian restaurant. After lunch visiting Jvari (VI-VII cc.) and Svetitskhoveli (X-XI cc.) Monasteries. Departure to Stepantsminda (former Kazbegi). On the way visiting Ananuri Castle complex (XVII c.) and Gudauri. Arrival in Kazbegi. Dinner and overnight in the hotel or guesthouse.
Stepantsminda is famous with its scenic location in the Greater Caucasus Mountains and is the centre for trekking and mountain climbing. Gudauri is one of the most famous ski resorts in Georgia at the height of 2195 metres.
Day 2 Dariali Valley
Breakfast. Trekking Gergeti Trinity Church (XIII c.) at the height of 2170 metres. Back to the hotel. During the lunch you will taste traditional local food. Departure to Dariali Valley, visiting the waterfall and the national park. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 3 Sno
After breakfast departure to Sno. Visiting the towers of Phshansheta (XVI-XVII cc.) and the Church of Saint Mary in Sioni (IX c.). Lunch. Trekking Juta valley. Back to the Kazbegi. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Sno is a village where a summer residence and patrimonial tower of the current Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia is located
Day 4 Truso Valley
After Breakfast departure to Truso Valley, visiting sulphureous springs and travertine. Lunch in Phasanauri. Transfer to the hotel. Free time. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 5 Phshavi
After breakfast departure to Phshavi. Visiting the house museum of famous Georgian writer Vazha Phshavela.
During the lunch you will taste delicious Khinkali.
On the way to Shatili visiting Kistani Castle. Dinner and overnight in the hotel (guesthouse) in Shatili.
Khinkali - juicy dumplings filled with spiced meat (usually beef and pork, sometimes mutton) with greens, onions and garlic.
Day 6 Shatili
After breakfast excursion in Shatili. Here you will have a chance to see ancient cosmic cryptograms. During the lunch you will taste unique local cuisine. Departure to Mutso. Picnic in the nature. Visiting the ruins of ancient castles and towers. Back to Shatili. Dinner and overnight in the hotel (guesthouse).
Shatili is a village-unique complex of medieval fortresses and fortified dwellings of stone and mortar, which functioned both as a residential area and a fortress guarding the northeastern outskirts of the country. The fortress consists of the terraced structures dominated by flat-roofed dwellings and about 60 towers with cluster together to create a single chain of fortifications.
Day 7 Tbilisi
After breakfast departure to Tbilisi. Lunch in the hotel.
City tour: Old Tbilisi- unique Sulphur Baths, Narikala Fortress (IV c.), Metekhi Church and other sightseeing. Gala dinner in the restaurant accompanied by Georgian Folk dances and songs. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 8 Tbilisi
After breakfast transfer to the airport. Departure.
